MEET CAMILLA WEBSTER
A member and life long visitor to Ocean Reef, artist and best selling author Camilla Webster is capturing the incredible natural environment in paintings like “America at Sea” around Key Largo, Tavernier and Islamorada during the 2017 season
Today her paintings often reflect the social issues of the day in subjects like the state of America, immigrant labor, the fate of women in the Middle East, and the Je Suis Charlie events.
Based at Mana Contemporary, before moving south, Webster was chosen to work and present on the main floor with the leading contemporary artists of our day, including Doug Argue and Carole Feuerman.
Webster was selected as an Art Stager Artist for Douglas Elliman’s Catherine Townhouse Launch with special event celebrating Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin, New York City
The Novogratz Design Team picked Webster as their featured Artist of the Day. Her painting “Sub Rosa” was chosen out of thousands of online submissions
Webster’s TED talk “In Front of You” focusing on the deceleration and acceleration experience through her painting was featured on Yahoo. The conference also included a 30 piece exhibit & installation for the TED weekend at Monmouth University, and was sponsored by Mana Contemporary.
Recently, Webster was invited by Arianna Huffington to be a Thrive Global artist and contributor, featured as an artist whose work encourages well being
A best selling author and internationally recognized journalist for two decades, both her abstract and figurative work on canvas are filled with memorable statements against an unexpected backdrop of color.
Her work portrays the stories she spent years covering for global news organizations as the Forbes anchor, Wall Street Journal editor and producer for CBS News and the History Channel
Webster studied painting at The Slade School of Fine Art in London and completed her study of abstraction and “The Power of Color” under Pat Lipsky at The Art Students League.
As a journalist, Camilla was the host of Forbes Collector and relaunched the section for Forbes in 2010 covering artists from Damien Hirst to the private collections of billionaire art collectors like Eli Broad.
